This week on Diane's Kitchen, we will be talking with Stephanie Villella, the Justice Programs Coordinator for the Washburn County Drug and Alcohol Court. Their mission being to reduce substance abuse and criminal behavior, and to improve the lives of offenders, families, and the community by providing intensive court supervision and substance abuse treatment while holding offenders accountable for criminal behavior. Also at the table is a thirty-six-year-old woman named Kayla, who is a recent graduate of the program. She tells her story of addiction and recovery and how it destroyed her life until her last incarceration.
