WASHBURN COUNTY -- Washburn County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Harrington announced in a press release today that he will be retiring on August 2nd after serving nearly twenty-two years on the bench.

(Press Release) -- After nearly 22 years on the bench, Washburn County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Harrington will retire on August 2, 2019.

Harrington, whose term expires in 2021, sent his letter of intent to retire to Governor Anthony Evers, District 10 Chief Judge Maureen Boyle (Barron), Clerk of Court Shannon Anderson, and Director of State Courts on May 24. Candidates for the Spring Election for Judicial Office in April may start circulating their papers on December 1, 2019 and file them with the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2020. They must also complete and file a Statement of Economic Interests (SEI) to Wisconsin Ethics Commission Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2020. A Spring Primary may be held in February, 2020. For further information or to obtain any necessary forms, please contact the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
