WASHBURN COUNTY — Washburn County Chief Deputy Mike Richter is retiring after nearly 34 years in Washburn County Law Enforcement, including the past 14 years as Chief Deputy.
When reached for comment, Chief Deputy Richter provided DrydenWire.com with the following statement:
After more than 36 years in law enforcement and nearly 34 years of service with The Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, I will be retiring March 26, 2019.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Washburn County for my many years of employment as well as the opportunities to develop and grow. My career consisted of 8 years as patrol Deputy, 12 years as Drug Investigator, and almost 14 years as Chief Deputy. These assignments provided me with adventures and relationships that few people will get to experience.
Serving in Washburn County has been a pleasure due to the great people who call this place home. Success in law enforcement comes as a direct result of citizens willing to get involved and dedicated people who ensure that their community remains safe and secure. Safe communities are achieved through a team effort and I have been blessed to be on this team.
