RUSK COUNTY - A 57-year-old bicyclist has died after apparently being struck by a vehicle south of the Village of Bruce, according to a press release from the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, October 9, 2021 at approximately 03:49AM the Rusk County 911 Dispatch Center received an emergency call in reference to a vehicle vs bicyclist accident on Hwy 40 just South of the Village of Bruce, WI.
Upon arrival, law enforcement and first responders found a deceased male laying on Hwy 40 near his bicycle. The driver of the striking vehicle was also on scene.
The deceased male has been identified as Kenneth Funk, 57yrs old from Bruce, WI.
The driver of the striking vehicle’s identity will not be released at this time but has been and is continuing to cooperate with law enforcement.
This crash is still under investigation by the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the Rusk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
