POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has located the missing boater on Cedar Lake and has identified the deceased victim.
According to Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:50p, search teams located the victim who died on Cedar Lake. Divers then recovered the victim who is identified as 23-year-old Andrew Skaare from Rivers Falls, Wisconsin.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office would like to send a special thank you to the following Agencies who assisted in this recovery operation. Washington County MN Sheriff’s Office recovery and dive team, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, St Croix County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin DNR, Allied Fire Department, and the Polk County Medical Examiner.
Additionally, a sincere thank you to the community for their outpouring of support and donations of food and refreshments throughout this process.
This incident remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin DNR.
