Update On Services In Washburn County

Press Release

COURT SYSTEM SERVICES AVAILABLE

Washburn County is taking recommended health and safety precautions to protect the public and staff and reduce the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). While there is still continued access at the Courthouse for Court System, most departments have limited in-person access and are dealing with emergency or essential requests ONLY. If you need service, please contact the appropriate department by phone, email or website access. The county website, https://www.co.washburn.wi.us , lists all departments, emails and phone numbers.

WASHBURN COUNTY FOREST CAMPGROUND CLOSURES

As part of the Covid-19 response, Washburn County Forestry will not be providing maintenance at any recreational facilities, including our Campgrounds. We are unable to secure paper products to stock bathrooms or enough supplies to provide users with sanitary conditions at our bathrooms or shower facilities. Our Department also has determined that allocating staff to cleaning recreational facilities is an unnecessary risk to our employees at this time.

This closure impacts Totogatic Park, Sawmill Park, Dugan Run Horse Trails and other recreation facilities.  We ask that the people do not consider these campgrounds as a destination, or safe haven, during this crisis.  Bathrooms will remain locked and power systems will not be turned on. This is a temporary closure and we will be evaluating a re-opening date as the situation progresses. We will be issuing full refunds should this closure overlap with campsite reservations.
