POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- Authorities have released the name of the person who died as a result of a motorcycle crash in Polk County on Sunday.
Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak said on Tuesday that the motorcyclist who died in this crash was 27-year-old Jeremy Roy from rural Frederic, Wisconsin.

Polk County Records 9th Traffic Fatality Of 2023 Following Motorcycle Crash
POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- A crash on Sunday morning has resulted in the 9th traffic fatality of 2023 in Polk County.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 4:54a, the Polk County Sheriff’s Emergency Call Center received a 911 call from a resident near State Highway 35 and County Highway E in Lewis, who reported hearing a loud crash sound.
Lewis is in the town of Clam Falls, located in the very northern part of Polk County. First Responders and Polk County Deputies responded to the area and located the crash site.
Sheriff Waak says that the Operator of a westbound Honda Motorcycle on County Highway E failed to negotiate a curve just east of State Highway 35. The motorcycle went off the road striking a sign and ended up in a thick wooded area. The operator of the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator was not wearing a helmet, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The name of the victim will be released at a later time.

The Crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
This is the 9th traffic fatality in Polk County in 2023.
