UPDATE: Names Released In Two-Vehicle Crash In Polk County

POLK COUNTY — At 6:40a on Saturday August 31, 2019, a crash occurred on WIS 65 at W Church Road in Polk County near Clear Lake. The crash involved 1 injury, according to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(Press Release) — On Saturday, August 31, 2019, at approximately 6:40 AM, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle head on-crash on STH 65 just north of the Polk/St. Croix County line in Polk County.

A northbound vehicle was attempting to negotiate a curve when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a southbound vehicle. The operator of the southbound vehicle was airlifted to Regions hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle was arrested for 5th offense OWI by Polk County Sheriffs office.

The crash remains under investigation.
