(NWS) -- A winter storm will bring rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain to the Northland starting tonight and lasting into Sunday morning.
The first wave will move through tonight into tomorrow morning with a lull around midday Saturday before the second wave moves in. The wintry mix will then continue into Sunday evening before changing to all snow Sunday night. The heaviest ice accumulations will be along the I-35 corridor into northwest Wisconsin were a quarter to nearly one-half inch of ice will be possible. Travel will be treacherous due to the freezing rain. Downed trees and power lines will also be possible.
