Two Arrested In Sand Lake Drug Investigation Involving Children

BURNETT COUNTY -- Two adults were arrested and two children were removed from a Sand Lake residence following a drug-related investigation involving methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to a press release from the St. Croix Tribal Police Department.

PRESS RELEASE

On April 28, 2025, St. Croix Tribal Police officers received information regarding children potentially endangered by drug activity at a residence in the Sand Lake community. Officers executed a search warrant at the residence, resulting in two adults being taken into custody.

Following an assessment by EMS personnel, two juveniles were safely removed from the home and released into the temporary care of Burnett County Health and Human Services (HHS) and Indian Child Welfare (ICW) for further evaluation and support.

During the search, officers located drug paraphernalia associated with methamphetamine and fentanyl use. As a result, the two adults were arrested and are facing charges including:

  • Child Neglect
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The St. Croix Tribal Police Department would like to thank the Burnett County Sheriff's Office, Burnett County Health and Human Services, Indian Child Welfare, North Memorial Ambulance, and the St. Croix Tribal Housing Authority for their assistance during this incident.

The case remains open pending a continued investigation. No further information will be released at this time, and no additional questions will be answered.
