Turtle Lake Police Chief: Very Dangerous Illegal Drugs Are On The Streets

TURTLE LAKE, WI — Thanks to first responders, two people who appear to have overdosed on an illegal drug called Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) - the second incident in a week in Turtle Lake - both lives were saved, according to a press release from the Turtle Lake Police Department.

(Press Release) — On 09-20-2019 at approximately 11:35am the Turtle Lake Police Dept, Turtle Lake First Responder, Cumberland Ambulance, Barron Goldcross Ambulance, Turtle lake Fire Dept, Life Link Helicopter and the Barron County Sheriff Dept. were paged to the St. Croix Casino Hotel West lot for an unconscious female in the west parking lot.

On arrival a 22 year old female was located in the back seat of a vehicle still unconscious and not responding to anything. A few minutes later a 22year old male subject was located in hotel room in the same condition as the female. Both subjects had been in the same room earlier in the day.

The female was transported to the Cumberland Hospital and the male subject was flown out to Regions Hospital in Minnesota.

This incident still remains under investigation at this time by the Turtle Lake Police Dept, but appears to be drug overdoses of an illegal drug called GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate) similar to Ecstasy, a very dangerous drug.


 
A 23 year old male was arrest at the scene for a probation hold.  

Thanks to the quick actions Casino Hotel Security, the First Responders and Ambulance crew 2 lives were saved today.

This is the second incident in less than week of people overdosing on illegal drugs in the Village of Turtle Lake. Illegal drug[s] will kill.
