EAU CLAIRE COUNTY — A female Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper was rear-ended by a passing vehicle while conducting a traffic stop that led to a multiple-vehicle crash with injuries, according to a press release from the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday May 24, 2021 at approximately 9:16 am the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to westbound I-94 near mile post 74 for a report of a three vehicle crash with injuries.
It was further reported one of the vehicles involved was a Wisconsin State Patrol squad car.
The initial investigation shows a trooper was inside her squad car during a traffic stop when her squad car was struck by a passing motorist. The rear-end collision caused the trooper’s squad car to strike the vehicle she had initially stopped.
All three drivers were injured and transported to local hospitals.
The extent of injuries are unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
