BLOOMER, WI -- At 7:54a today, a devastating single-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 40 (STH 40) just north of 155th Avenue in Bloomer, resulting in a fatality. The incident involved a truck that left the roadway, becoming airborne before colliding with an embankment and multiple trees, causing extensive front-end damage. The truck ultimately rolled over and came to a halt on its passenger side.
Emergency response units from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Bloomer Police, Bloomer Fire, Bloomer EMS, Chippewa Falls EMS, Mayo One Helicopter, and the Chippewa County Coroner swiftly mobilized to the scene following a report received by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office at the aforementioned time and date.
Despite prompt extrication efforts and life-saving measures, tragically, the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identities of the individuals involved are pending release at a later date pending notification of next of kin.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
