SHELL LAKE, WI -- The Shell Lake School District Superintendent, David Bridenhagen, says that he will be leaving the school district and retiring shortly after the conclusion of the upcoming school year.
In a recent communication with DrydenWire.com, Superintendent Bridenhagen said that he is retiring to “provide the time to spend with loved ones, do some traveling, and work on existing hobbies while exploring new interests.” He is also hoping to use some of his new-found-free-time to complete several of his car restorations and projects “around the house.”
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Shell Lake,” Bridenhagen said when asked about his time in Shell Lake. “I can't believe how quickly the past six years have gone. I am very proud of our community and their support of our recent building project that will be a lasting part of the community for many years. Having come from Green Bay, I will be relocating back to that area to be closer to family. I thank the Shell Lake community for their warm hospitality and friendship. Shell Lake will always hold a very special place in my heart.”
Looking forward, Bridenhagen said that the Shell Lake School Board will be working with the Wisconsin School Board Association's search committee as it relates to finding his successor. “The Board will begin the process of identifying the key qualities that the district and community are looking for in their next superintendent.”
Bridenhagen has been the superintendent for Shell Lake for the past 6 years and his last day is scheduled for June 30, 2022, marking 7 years as superintendent with the Shell Lake School District.
