Hello Everyone.

This is Dave Aslyn with your Superintendent’s Update. The 2022-23 School Year is off to a great start. Exciting things are taking place across the district with a wide variety of activities aimed at supporting student learning and growth. The construction that has been going on for the past two years is nearly complete making our schools jewels in our community. None of this would be possible without a supportive community, dedicated staff and engaged families.

At the same time, we have challenges ahead. Like many Wisconsin school districts, we are facing budget deficits. We are concerned that, without additional funding, we will not be able to maintain current programs and services for students. In an attempt to address these concerns, the District is exploring an operational referendum.

Before any further consideration takes place, the District needs to hear from our community and taxpayers. The SASD has partnered with School Perceptions, an independent Wisconsin company with expertise in conducting community surveys to help gauge community opinions. District residents are scheduled to receive a survey in the mail during the week of October 24th. The survey will provide background information and ask opinions on key questions. All residents are asked to complete the survey to help guide future District operations.

School Perceptions provides two ways of completing the survey make things convenient. You can take the paper survey and return it to School Perceptions by mail. Or you can complete the survey online. Each online survey requires a unique code that can be found on the mailing. Additional online codes and paper surveys are available by contacting the District Office at (715) 635-2171. Your survey responses are kept completely confidential by School Perceptions. Residents are asked to complete the survey by November 9th.

I want to thank you in advance for completing the School Perceptions Community Survey. Your insights will help guide the SASD into the future.

And as always, GO RAILS!
