Spooner Lifters Turn In Strong Performance At Elk Mound

On Saturday February 8, 2020, local siblings Cole (a Junior at Spooner High School) and Allison Cook (a Freshman at Spooner High School) participated in a regional Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association (WHSPA) powerlifting meet.

Returning lifter Cole, who recently finished 5th at State in 2019, along with his younger sister Allison, a first time competitor, both took first place in their respective varsity RAW division weight classes on Saturday.

Cole had a good day with a 525lb squat, 275lb bench press & a 495lb deadlift. Giving him a solid 1,295lb three lift total.

Allison also turned in a solid performance with a 265lb squat,145lb bench press & a 290lb deadlift. Giving her a 700lb three lift total.

Their efforts earned them the chance to compete at the upcoming WHSPA State Meet in Appleton on March 7th and 8th.

Cole and Allison train at the Body Shop Fitness Center in Shell Lake with their coach Kiko Murphy. Other interested athletes are welcome!
