Spooner Health Now Seeking A Speech Language Pathologist

SPOONER, WI – Spooner Health is now seeking candidates for Speech Language Pathologist.

Duties of the position include:

  • Schedule patients and meetings, adjusting as necessary to meet departmental needs.
  • Evaluate and screen speech, sound production, resonance, voice, fluency, language, cognition, feeding, and swallowing problems.
  • Develop and modify care plans, involving patients and families in goal setting.
  • Provide treatments including speech therapy, swallow treatment, cognitive training, and speech-generating device training.
  • Educate patients, residents, and families about dysfunction, treatment, and self-management programs.
  • Provide educational in-services and screenings in-house and to community groups.
  • Accurately document patient progress according to regulatory and department standards.
  • Communicate with employers, rehabilitation consultants, and insurance companies regarding patient status.
  • Participate in program development and contribute ideas and protocols.
  • Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and mandatory in-services.

Requirements of the position include:

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Speech-Language Pathology with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
  • Licensure: Graduation from an accredited School of Speech-Language Pathology with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree.
  • Certificates: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech and Hearing Association, or working toward it under a post-graduate clinical fellowship.
  • Other: Physical ability to push, reach, squat, and lift up to moderately heavy loads; ability to grip, squeeze, or pinch without restrictions.
