WASHBURN COUNTY — It’s that time of Spring again when your heart soars at the thought of green growing around your home! The Spooner Garden Club’s Annual Spring Plant sale will move you toward the blooming season.
The Plant, Garden Art and Bake Sale is coming to Centennial Park on June 1st at 8:30am until sold out.
Plenty of hardy-proven area plants will be offered for sale. Annuals and perennials that members have collected from their own gardens will be on sale for less than those store- bought “untried and true” zone-area plants. Featured also will be garden art by local artisans and member-baked goods to treat the palate.
This plant sale as well as the Fall plant sale help the Club to fund annual scholarships for Spooner, Shell Lake and Trego students who are interested in the study of horticulture, ecology, forestry, etc. Information and requirements can be found at the various school guidance offices.
The Spooner Garden Club created and/or maintains gardens at the Northern Wisconsin Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery, and Spooner’s Centennial Garden, Triangle Park and city hall.
