SPOONER, WI -- The Spooner Block Party has a new name, a new logo, and a new mission. This was first announced during this week's live 'Positive Tuesday w/ Ben & Fitzy' show. Today, organizers have released the following press release which you can read in its entirety below.
Press Release
Spooner Block Party celebrates FREEDOM and with doing so, will now be called Freedom Music Fest Wisconsin. Same artists, same day, same stage, with a NEW purpose.
Following last year’s successful event, the Spooner Block Party committee felt inspired to give back and to have a greater purpose for their party.
Amy Greenfield the founder and event manager commented that "Our committee is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers from Spooner, Hayward, Shell Lake, and Stone Lake that all felt that with the support we’ve received thus far that we’d like to return the favor and celebrate those who have given so much to us and for us. Our event will always be around July 4th weekend so what better time to celebrate and honor those who have served our country, keep us safe, and free each and every day. Our committee is very excited to roll out our new look, new name, and most importantly, our new mission and vision. We will now be called Freedom Music Fest Wisconsin! We will continue to showcase nationally recognized rock & country talent on the same stage and on the same night just as before. Our event will celebrate and benefit regional military groups, law enforcement offices, fire departments, and EMS groups in the northwest Wisconsin region through the medium of rock and country music year after year."
This year’s acts feature Minneapolis favorite, GB Leighton, and national acts with the 90’s country band, Blackhawk. Our headliner will be a rock favorite with .38 Special!
Tickets are on sale now on our website at freedommusicfestwi.com.
We will have more information on lodging, camping, vendors, and shuttles coming soon, so stay tuned! We look forward to celebrating with you! Let’s have a party with a purpose, a party for freedom!
