BARRON COUNTY — Speed and drugs are believed to have been a factor in a single-vehicle crash on Monday, September 6, 2021, that has left two teenagers with injuries, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, September 6, 2021, at 1:03 a.m., the Barron County 911 Center received a call of a one vehicle crash at 12th Street and Hwy B, east of Cumberland.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Cumberland Ambulance, Cumberland Fire Department, North Memorial Helicopter and Cumberland Police Department responded to the scene.
Initial investigation shows a vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign on 12th Street at Hwy B and rolled into the ditch.
A 17-year-old driver from Cumberland was transported to Cumberland Hospital and later transported to Regions Hospital in MN with serious injuries and a 16-year-old passenger from Fredric was flown to Regions Hospital in MN with serious injuries.
The crash is being reconstructed by the WI State Patrol.
Speed and drugs are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
