WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Shell Lake Arts Center is the proud recipient of a generous grant of $6,980.26 from the Academy of Country Music Lifting Lives. ACM Lifting Lives® announced that it awarded more than $270,000 to a selection of organizations that included Arts Wisconsin, VH1 Save the Music Houston, and Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation as well as the Shell Lake Arts Center. Partnerships with artists and generous giving from fans and the Nashville community enable ACM Lifting Lives to provide funding to organizations that share the same mission, and strive to improve lives through the power of music.
“ACM Lifting Lives has prospered year over year due to the incredible commitment of the country music community, artists and industry and we are thrilled to announce a significant increase in this year’s deserving grant beneficiaries,” said Tree Paine, Chairman of the ACM Lifting Lives. “We look forward to continuing to fund programs in which we are able to improve lives through the power of music.”
With the support of ACM Lifting Lives® the Shell Lake Arts Center is serving an estimated 630 youth this year in arts programs ranging from instrumental and vocal music to theater and visual arts. Throughout its 52 year history, the Arts Center has served more than 40,000 youth and adult learners, many of whom have gone on to become professional performers, directors, recording artists, and college and university professors. Each summer area residents and visitors attend over 35 free concerts performed by their students and performance artists/teachers.
