BURNETT COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced Christopher Foehser, of Siren, WI, for his conviction of possession of child pornography.
Charges were filed against Foehser in January 2020 following an investigation into a tip that the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) received from Homeland Security regarding the possible upload of an image of child pornography via a social networking app.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the IP address associated with the upload belonged to Foehser. When investigating agents interviewed Foehser, he admitted to viewing child pornography and uploading child pornography to the social networking app.
Foehser was charged with Class D Felony Possession of Child Pornography and Class I Felony Exposing Pubic Area.
Online circuit court records show that Foehser appeared most recently on April 8, 2022, for a sentencing hearing on a conviction for Class D Felony Possession of Child Pornography. The remaining charges against Foehser were dismissed but read in at a hearing in February 2022.
At the hearing on April 8, 2022, the State and Defense Counsel for Foehser each argued for a 6-year sentence with 3 years of initial confinement in state prison followed by 3 years of extended supervision. The Hon. Melissia Mogen also heard a statement from a character witness and a statement from Foehser himself.
Judge Mogen ordered Foehser to serve a 6-year sentence with 3 years of initial confinement and 3 years of extended supervision. Conditions of extended supervision will require Foehser to maintain absolute sobriety, complete a victim impact panel, provide a DNA sample, finish Sex Offender treatment programs and evaluations, comply with continued therapy and programming per DOC, and register as a sex offender for 15 years after release from prison.

Foehser will be prohibited from using the internet - unless supervised at work for employment. Foehser will not be allowed to access social media. He will not be allowed to have a phone with the capability to access the internet. Foehser will also be prohibited from being around any minors (aside from his minor son) unless approved by a Department of Corrections agent.
