SHELL LAKE, WI -- Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for Michael Wayne Carpenter, a 71-year-old man believed to be suffering from dementia or another cognitive impairment. Michael was last seen in Shell Lake on October 4, 2024, at approximately 4:00p in the 300 block of 7th Avenue.

Michael is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a light blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.

Officials believe Michael may be in the vicinity of 1700 Heart Lake Road in Shell Lake, but his current whereabouts remain unknown.

Local authorities are urging anyone with information to contact law enforcement immediately. If you spot Michael Carpenter or have any details that could help locate him, you are encouraged to call 911.
