BURNETT COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced the second of two men charged following a traffic stop in Burnett County that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, and many items of drug paraphernalia.
DrydenWire published a post in March 2021, stating that Andrey Todd and Michael Melendez had been arrested following a traffic stop in February 2021. During the course of the traffic stop, law enforcement located cocaine, methamphetamine, unlabeled pills, a digital scale, multiple devices used for smoking controlled substances.
Todd was charged with Class D Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine-Party to a Crime; Class H Felony Bail Jumping; Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine-Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence-2nd Offense; Misdemeanor Operate Motor Vehicle While Revoked; Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon-a Knife; and 4 charges of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Andrey Todd
Online circuit court records show that Todd appeared most recently on October 21, 2021, in Burnett County Circuit Court and the Court accepted his plea of Guilty to an amended charge of Possession of amphetamine w/intent to deliver (3-10g); Misdemeanor Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence-2nd Offense; and Misdemeanor Carry a Concealed Weapon. The remaining charges filed against Todd were dismissed but read in. Todd received credit for 43 days served in jail.
The Court ordered a sentence of 6 years for Todd’s conviction of Possession of amphetamine w/intent to deliver (3-10g); 3 years initial confinement followed by 3 years of extended supervision. Conditions of supervision will require Todd to undergo an alcohol and other drug assessment and follow through with programming per the Department of Corrections; cooperate with regular testing; maintain gainful employment or higher education; and maintain absolute sobriety.
Todd received a sentence of 10 days in jail for his conviction of Misdemeanor Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence-2nd Offense. The Court ordered Todd to complete an OWI assessment and a Driver Safety Plan.
For his conviction of Misdemeanor Carry Concealed Weapon, the Court ordered Todd to serve 30 days in jail.
Michael Melendez
Melendez was charged with Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine-Party to a Crime; Misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance-Adderall; and 4 charges of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
DrydenWire published a post in September 2021, that the Court had sentenced Melendez to serve 1 year of probation with an imposed and stayed sentence of 30 days of jail time on each conviction, to be served consecutively on convictions for Possession of Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia. The remaining charges filed against Melendez were dismissed but read in.
