DOUGLAS COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WI DNR) are currently conducting a ground search in the Brule River State Forest for a 37-year-old man reported missing in Tennessee.

Philip Joshua Johnson was officially reported missing to the Nashville Metro Police Department on October 18. The latest lead in the investigation brought authorities to Wisconsin, where a vehicle associated with Johnson was discovered abandoned in the Brule River State Forest on a trail off of Brackett's Corner Rd. around November 6. Local hunters familiar with the area suggested the vehicle may have been there as early as October 23.
On November 7, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office initiated a search of the immediate vicinity but found no signs of Johnson. In an effort to cover more ground and increase search efficiency, a dog team has been deployed today to assist in the ongoing search efforts.
Officials are appealing to the public for any information related to a white PT Cruiser with temporary Tennessee plates or any details about Philip Joshua Johnson's presence in the area during late October. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact them promptly.
