SPOONER, WI -- The Spooner Area School District (SASD) will be conducting an operating referendum in conjunction with the April 4, 2023 election. The operational referendum the District is seeking is $1.95 million per year beginning with the 2023-24 school year and ending with the 2025-26 school year for non-recurring purposes that would be used to continue moving forward with our SASD Mission:
- Quality educational programming for students
- Recruit and retain skilled and dedicated staff
- Sound operations and fiscal responsibility
We’re committed to providing information about the referendum to support voters when they go to polls on April 4th. We are holding a Community Referendum Information Session on Thursday, March 9th at 6 p.m. in the Spooner Elementary Cafetorium that will give key information such as the background on budgeting challenges for public schools in the State of Wisconsin, the impact on learning and teaching as well as the projected impact on the tax levy. Most importantly, we can answer questions people may have about the referendum.
