SPOONER, WI -- The Spooner Middle School will remain closed on Thursday following the incident today that resulted in the evacuation of students, according to letter sent to parents this afternoon.
The announcement states that this morning the "Spooner Middle School was evacuated after a strong epoxy-like odor was detected resulting in some students and staff feeling ill." SASD says that now “out of an abundance of caution,” the Spooner Area School District is continuing to investigate the source of the odor with assistance of outside agencies.
Because of this, SMS will remain closed on Thursday November 11, 2021.
SASD says that a follow up announcement will be made as to when the building will reopen and at that time students will be allowed to return and/or collect personal belongings.
Questions or concerns can be directed to the District Office at 715-635-2171.
