Single-Vehicle Crash In Rusk County Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

RUSK COUNTY — At 3:47p on Tuesday May 11, 2021, a crash occurred on US 8 WB at Log Cabin Road in Rusk County near Weyerhauser. The crash involved 1 fatality and 1 injury, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Troopers responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash with entrapment and injuries in Rusk County on Highway 8 at Log Cabin Road. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to Mayo hospital in Eau Claire. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

Preliminary evidence from the crash scene indicates the vehicle was westbound on Hwy 8 and crossed over the center line. The vehicle entered the south ditch and struck a tree and a power pole. The vehicle rolled over and came to its final rest on the passenger side of the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Assisting agencies included Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.
