NORTHWEST WISCONSIN — Tuesday’s election results affirmed a strong Republican presence in Northwest Wisconsin’s Assembly District races, with all four districts voting decisively for Republican candidates after redistricting earlier this year left no competitive races in the region. With 99% of the estimated votes counted, the margins signal solid Republican hold in these areas.
In Wisconsin’s 67th Assembly District, incumbent David Armstrong retained his seat with a 67.6% majority over Democratic challenger Jeff Foster, who received 32.4% of the vote. Similarly, in the 68th Assembly District, incumbent Rob Summerfield secured a dominant win over Democrat Richard Pulcher with 72.9% to 27.1%.
In the 74th District, Republican incumbent Chanz Green defeated Jeanne Bruce with a 62.5% to 37.5% split, while in the 75th Assembly District, Duke Tucker prevailed over Democratic candidate Jane Kleiss by a margin of 66.7% to 33.3%.
In the federal race for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, Republican incumbent Tom Tiffany emerged victorious over Democratic challenger Kyle Kilbourn, winning 63.6% of the vote with 97% of the results tallied.
Meanwhile, the Senate race remains close, though Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin declared victory over Republican Eric Hovde on Wednesday morning. With 98.6% of votes counted, Baldwin is leading with 49.3% to Hovde’s 48.6%. Official confirmation of Baldwin’s win remains pending as the final ballots are tallied.
