MADISON, Wis. / (Press Release) -- State Representative Nick Milroy (D-South Range) presented Captain Brett Uchanski of the Town of Superior Fire Department with the First Responder of the Year Award for the 73rd Assembly District at a ceremony at the State Capitol [Tuesday].
October is First Responder Appreciation Month. The State Assembly is honoring First Responders from across Wisconsin for the essential work they do for the state.
“First Responders are the brave, dedicated, and compassionate individuals that come to our rescue when we are most in need of assistance,” said Milroy. “These heroes drop whatever they are doing at a moment’s notice to provide our families and neighbors with the support they need, often putting their own lives on the line to help others.”
“It is an honor to present Captain Brett Uchanski with the First Responder of the Year Award for the 73rd Assembly District, in recognition of his countless hours of service and sacrifice for the residents of the Town of Superior,” concluded Milroy. “The hard work of First Responders like Captain Uchanski is critical for the safety of our communities, and I want to express my deep gratitude to all First Responders and emergency personnel of the 73rd Assembly District and throughout Wisconsin for their invaluable service to our state.”
Captain Uchanski and his family travelled to the State Capitol where he, along with other First Responder of the Year Award recipients from across the state, were recognized in the Assembly Chambers.
"While I am the recipient of this year's award, I proudly share it with all the first responders who serve in the Twin Ports area. I am inspired daily by the dedication and selflessness they project while serving their community," said Uchanski.
