Rep. Magnafici: Wisconsin Assembly Streamlines Vaccine Rollout

Press Release

MADISON, WI - Representative Gae Magnafici, (R- Dresser) today voted yes on Assembly Bill 4 and 5, streamlining Wisconsin’s slow vaccine rollout.

“As a former nurse, I’ve been disappointed watching the vaccine rollout in Wisconsin. We are one of the last in the nation in percentage of population vaccinated,” Rep. Magnafici said.

Assembly Bill 4 loosens supervision requirements for pharmacy students administrating vaccines. It also authorizes pharmacy technicians to administer the vaccine with supervision. This will significantly speed up vaccine administration.

Assembly Bill 5 streamlines the Department of Health Services’ bureaucratic inefficiencies by requiring DHS to publish a plan for vaccinating the general public in a timely fashion.

“I’m hopeful that the changes I voted for today help to speed up Wisconsin’s slow vaccination rollout. This requires an all-hands-on-deck approach, and our brave healthcare providers deserve all of the tools available to combat this disease.”
