Press Release
MADISON, WI – Representative Gae Magnafici (R – Dresser) released the following statement after Governor Evers partially vetoed the Republican budget and Personal Property Tax Relief, which in total cut taxes over $3.4 billion:
“Governor Evers to-date has vetoed billions of dollars in tax relief. Talk about a missed opportunity.
The Republican legislature provided leadership and a roadmap to help Wisconsin families and small businesses. Governor Evers decided to veto some of that relief.
The Governor is claiming he fulfilled his promises by signing the Republican tax cut. In reality, he initially asked to raise taxes over $1 billion.
Wisconsinites have weathered through an economy shut down by their governor, high unemployment, and low participation in the workforce. Wisconsin small businesses deserved this tax cut, but Governor Evers says otherwise.”
