MADISON, Wis. / (Press Release) -- Rep. Magnafici (R – Dresser) announced Richard A. Davidsavor as First Responder of the Year of the 28th Assembly District. Representative Magnafici said the following:
“Throughout the last two years, our first responders have stood up in the face of multiple challenges. No one knows this more than Richard A. Davidsavor. Richard serves Polk County with honor, joining the Cushing Rural Fire Corporation in 1972, becoming a Deputy Sheriff for Polk County, an interim chief of police for Milltown, a police officer for Dresser, Frederic, Luck, Grantsburg, and the City of St. Croix Falls. Richard Davidsavor continues with Cushing Fire Rescue as Assistant Chief in his 49th year of service.
Richard was an instructor for Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, where he taught Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS. He created his own courses of Advanced Rescue Tactics, including Advanced Emergency Vehicle Operations, Vehicle Extrication, Farm Machinery Extraction, Swift Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, and Agricultural Rescue.
That is why I am proud to announce I have selected Richard as the 28th Assembly District First Responder of the Year. Though many applicants were deserving of the title, Richard set the bar high as a volunteer first responder and law enforcement officer. His selfless dedication to his community speaks volumes to the quality of his character. Richard joined me in the State Capitol on Tuesday, October 26th, to receive his award.
Both of Richard’s sons, Travis and Troy, are following in their Dad’s footsteps joining the Cushing Fire Department.”
Richard said the following regarding his acceptance of his citation:
“I’m proud of the work my department and I have accomplished serving our community. It’s an honor to join Rep. Magnafici at the Capitol to accept this award.”
