“I continue to believe that the decision on whether or not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is a private, personal decision,” said Rep. Edming. “Wisconsinites should not be forced to share private medical information, like their vaccine status in order to go about their daily life.”

“Vaccine passports” could be used by governments and private entities to deny access into government buildings, businesses, or events like sporting events or concerts.

“It should be an individual decision on whether or not you chose to share private medical information,” said Rep. Edming. “I voted for AB 299 because I believe health decisions should remain private.”

AB 299 now heads to the State Senate for further consideration.

The 87th Assembly District includes portions of Clark, Marathon, Rusk, Sawyer, and Taylor Counties.
