MEDFORD, Wis. -- On Tuesday, Representative James Edming (R-Glen Flora) was recognized by Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc. (WPT) with their “2022 Property Taxpayer Champion Award.” He was nominated by members of the organization in the 87th Assembly District for working on their behalf, advocating for lower taxes, and standing up for Main Street, Wisconsin. The award was presented at Boarders Inn and Suites in Medford.
“There is no one who works harder to deliver for the region’s small businesses than Rep. Edming,” said John Jacobson, WPT government and member relations director. “For his work on expanding property tax credits for our state’s disabled heroes, to considering all of Wisconsin’s small businesses essential, we are proud to name Rep. Edming a 2022 Property Taxpayer Champion.”
This session Rep. Edming was proud to author legislation to expand the eligibility for the disabled veterans and surviving spouses property tax credit. He also worked with his colleagues on efforts to repeal the personal property tax and supported legislation to prevent state government from unfairly deeming businesses nonessential.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this prestigious award and I am humbled to have been nominated by some of my constituents,” said Rep. Edming. “During my time in office I am proud to have advocated for lowering the tax burden on hardworking Wisconsinites. I look forward to continuing these efforts next session.”
