Madison, WI – Representative Chanz Green (R-Grand View) issued the following response after listening to Governor Evers’ State of the State Address:
"I find it disheartening that the first words out of Governor Evers mouth was him taking credit for tax cuts. He vetoed tax cuts multiple times last session for middle-class families and seniors.
"The reason the tax burden has gotten better in Wisconsin is because the Republican legislature has passed fiscally responsible budgets year after year. Republicans, not the governor, have led the charge for economic stability in the state.
"At the end of the day, I hope we can address all the issues the state faces responsibly, with emphasis on more economic stability, raising the education standards, and following through on immigration reform and providing public safety. By doing that, we can ensure that Northern Wisconsin and the rest of the state has what it needs to succeed."
