Rep. Beth Meyers Announces She Will Not Seek Re-Election

BAYFIELD, Wis. -- Representative Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) announced today that she will not run for re-election to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2022. In announcing, Meyers released the following statement:

“Today I announce my decision to not seek re-election to the Wisconsin State Assembly. It has been my honor to serve the wonderful communities of the 74th Assembly District since 2015. I am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me for the last 7 years and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of the 74th for these final 12 months with the same commitment.

During my time in Madison, I had the pleasure of serving alongside some wonderful colleagues. I will miss the team-building in caucus meetings, crafting legislation to benefit our state, and debating together on the floor for what is right for our constituents, our communities and the state of Wisconsin.

I am proud of my accomplishments during my time as a legislator which includes: fighting for the financial health of small businesses, ensuring a clean environment for all Wisconsinites, and protecting Governor Evers’ veto. I was proud to be the voice of my constituents on the Assembly Floor.”

Representative Meyers is a ranking member on the Assembly Committee on Energy & Utilities and Aging and Long-Term Care Committee, as well as a committee member on Financial Institutions and Rural Development. She was elected to the State Assembly in 2014 and has been a part of caucus leadership since her first term.
