News Release
BARRON COUNTY -- Push your career into high gear at the PUSH, Inc. and WITC Utility Construction Open House on Thursday, May 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. Stop by the open house at the PUSH, Inc. facilities at 1100 Lindy St. in Rice Lake for an opportunity to see a direct tie from WITC’s utility programs to a career in the utility construction industry at PUSH, Inc.
After recognizing a worker gap in the utility construction industry, PUSH partnered with WITC and created an innovative utility construction training program that gives students a competitive edge and the education required for this industry. Currently, the pipeline of utility students graduating from WITC is not enough to keep up with PUSH’s demand.
“We at PUSH need more skilled workers,” said Chase Lapcinski, president at PUSH, Inc. “Applicants who have completed the utility construction programs at WITC will be at an advantage and will be capable to advance faster than their peers who have less experience and training.”
The Utility Construction Open House will give those interested in working in the utilities industry a chance to:
- Apply for a career at PUSH
- Meet with WITC instructor to learn more about the utility program at WITC
- Chat with PUSH, Inc. employees to learn about their experience in the industry and at PUSH and the industry as a whole
- See how WITC’s utility programs can translate to a career at PUSH
- Learn about scholarship opportunities
- Tour the PUSH, Inc. facilities
- Try out WITC’s excavator and horizontal directional drill simulators
- Apply to WITC for free at the event and get free swag
