Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program proven to help family caregivers. This program will help you take care of yourself while caring for a relative or friend. You will benefit from this class whether you are helping care for someone who lives at home, in assisted living, a nursing home, or across the country.
“This class has made me realize I need to make changes to take better care of myself as a caregiver. If I don’t take care of myself, I can’t be as effective caring for my family member,” said a former workshop participant.
This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming will help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life. The workshop consists of six sessions held once a week.
The next local session is scheduled:
- Fridays, Nov. 2–Dec. 14, 2018
- 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
- (no class Friday, Nov. 23rd)
- ADRC/Extension Office, 850 W Beaverbrook Ave., Spooner, WI
