SPOONER, WI -- The Wisconsin State Patrol says that there is a full closure of all lanes on US 63 between Elm St and Oak St due to a traffic incident.
The incident, details of which were not included in the initial notification, occurred on River Street at approximately 8:39a today, August 13, 2021. Traffic continues to be rerouted and is expected to be reopened by noon today.
Witnesses at the scene told DrydenWire.com that the incident involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian, however, that has not been confirmed to DrydenWire.com by authorities.
Spooner Police Chief Jerry Christman told DrydenWire.com that a press release would be issued later today.
UPDATE: The Spooner Police Chief has issued an update via Facebook with the following information:
"Hwy 63 will be closed from Elm St to Oak St. due a car vs pedestrian crash. We hope to have the street reopened by noon today. A press release will be posted later today. - Chief Jerry Christman"
UPDATE #2: The Wisconsin State Patrol says that the scene has been cleared and 63 has been reopned to traffic.
