POLK COUNTY -- Polk County will host a public open house to gather input on the development of a 2025 Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, in collaboration with the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
The open house will be held at the Polk County Government Center on Tuesday, April 22nd from 5 to 7 pm in the County Board Room. It’s located at 100 Polk County Plaza in Balsam Lake. An online public survey for the Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan will also be open until May 2nd.
The goal of the plan is to identify bicycle and pedestrian needs in the County and improve the safety of routes between Polk County communities, amenities, and the greater region. The Plan will rely on extensive geographic information system (GIS) analysis and mapping to determine potential routes, corridors, and trails. The survey and open house are to learn about the habits and opinions regarding bicycling and walking and the conditions of existing infrastructure. Members of the public are welcome to participate in the survey and open house.
