POLK COUNTY -- A fugitive wanted for a 3rd-degree felony assault with a weapon has been arrested following a search warrant execution in Polk County, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 at around 715pm, The Polk County Emergency Response Team, and the St Croix Valley Drug Task Force executed a Search Warrant at a rural Centuria, WI residence.
20 year old James Joseph Howard, wanted for 3rd Degree felony assault with a weapon from Hennepin County, MN and felony theft of a motor vehicle out of Ramsey County, MN, was arrested. James Howard was a person of interest in a recent shooting and robbery in Minneapolis, MN.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank members of the St Croix Valley Drug Task Force and The St Croix County Sheriffs office of their assistance with this arrest.
