Polk County Awarded Certificate Of Achievement For Excellence In Financial Reporting

POLK COUNTY — Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Polk County. This is the eleventh year the County has received this prestigious award.

It was awarded to Polk County for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

“We are very proud of all our employees who work throughout the year to ensure a high level of transparency in our fiscal activities. This award recognizes these efforts that are intended to build trust and confidence in Polk County Government,” said County Administrator Vince Netherland.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

To read the 2020 comprehensive annual financial report, it is available to read on the Polk County’s website here.
