UPDATE: Names Released In Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Washburn County

WASHBURN COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- A tragic incident on Sunday evening claimed the life of a pedestrian on US 63 near County Road F in Washburn County. The crash occurred at approximately 9:19p on August 25, 2024.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the incident involved a 2021 Nissan traveling northbound on Highway 63. The vehicle struck a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway at the time of the crash. The pedestrian, who was dressed in dark clothing, was fatally injured as a result.

Authorities have not released the identity of the pedestrian pending notification of family members. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.

Assisting agencies included Washburn County Sheriff s Office, Washburn County Coroner, Washburn County Highway Department, North Ambulance, and Hayward Fire Department.
