BURNETT COUNTY — A 79-year-old man died Wednesday evening following a Car Vs. Pedestrian incident in Siren, WI, according to a press release from the Siren Police Department.
(Press Release) — On September 18, 2019, at approximately 8:15 P.M., it was reported that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in front of the Dollar General on Highway 35/70.
The pedestrian that was struck was idenitifed as Jerald Stanley Mechelke, 79 years of age, who was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robert Olson 54 years of age.
The incident is still under investigation.

The agencies involved at the scene were the Siren Police Department, St. Croix Tribal Police Department, Burnett County Sheriffs Department and the Webster Police Department, Siren Fire Dept. North Ambulance.
