Northlakes Community Clinic To Offer DOT Physicals

Press Release

MINONG -- NorthLakes Community Clinic Minong is now offering DOT (Department of Transportation) physical exams for the convenience of area commercial motor vehicle drivers. Family Nurse Practitioner Janelle Kidder recently completed her exam and will follow the standards set forth by the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association) and the DOT exam form. This exam tests vision, hearing, blood pressure, blood sugar, and can include drug use. Successful completion of the exam provides commercial drivers with the Medical Examiner's Certificate that they need to have on them when they're on the road.

Commercial motor vehicle drivers need to pass a simple physical to be certified as safe to be on the road. While drug testing gets most of the attention in the press, there are actually several other health aspects that are tested. These include tests of vision and hearing, blood pressure testing, and blood sugar testing. All of which is included during the DOT physical exam.

The DOT exam is required for commercial motor vehicle drivers. Anyone with any health concerns, such as lowered visual acuity or the possibility of high blood pressure, should schedule their exams even further in advance. This will allow them time to get everything in order and be re-tested before they need their new certificates.

If you are interested in scheduling a DOT exam, please give the Minong Clinic a call at (715) 466-2201.
