MINONG, WI -- In August, NorthLakes likes to remind its neighbors about Community Health Centers (CHCS). It’s known as National Community Health Center Month. NorthLakes is a Community Health Center that exists to provide access to primary care services to underserved communities. We're not the largest, but NorthLakes is proud to offer more types of services in more locations than any other Wisconsin Health Center! Last year we provided about 120,000 in-person visits and virtually across our 13 different services, 15 clinics, and school-based services. We served 23 counties. Our Seal A Smile team, in their six vans, covered over 330,000 miles. Every day, the work we're doing is positively impacting the health and wellness of our communities.
We support the financial health of our communities. Last year, NorthLakes had an economic stimulus impact of over $80 Million through direct and indirect spending. We created jobs and employed or supported the employment of over 550 people.
Minong is a community that we joined forces with Northwood Community Health Center years ago. It holds a special place in our hearts. So, we are hosting a Community Appreciation Event with tasty pulled pork sandwiches, fabulous tunes by Web & Jay, and some words of support from our elected officials.
