No Major Shuffle: Riverstreet Restaurant Owner Clarifies Rumors In Spooner

SPOONER, WI - Contrary to the current popular opinion that Riverstreet Family Restaurant is moving into Nick's Family Restaurant and the LaCabana Mexican & Italian Restaurant & Cantina is moving into the Riverstreet building, there is no major restaurant shuffle going on in Spooner.

Steve Olsen, owner of Spooner and Hayward's Riverstreet restaurants did purchase Nick's Family Restaurant, a multiple-generation business also in Spooner, and his son Tyler purchased Tony's Riverside restaurant and bar further down the road.

“Nicks,” according to Steve, “will remain pretty much the same. The name will remain the same and it will be again open on Tuesdays. Other than that, no major changes are in the works.”

LaCabana, the restaurant next to Riverstreet which Steve opened in 2020, will remain in the same building with the same great Mexican and Italian menus.

This makes four restaurants for Steve with the Hayward restaurant purchased in 2019.

There is no denying that this man knows his onions when it comes to running restaurants; great food, generous portions, friendly staff, and reasonable prices.
