WISCONSIN -- Northwoods Policy Network, a policy and advocacy organization, officially announced their social media and launch video today. The organization aims to be the Northwoods' voice across the state, advocating for greater policy considerations and economic opportunity. As a registered 501(c)3, the group will also be educating others on the unique challenges our communities have faced in recent decades as well as offering research and solutions that make our region not just a destination, but a home.
Northwoods Policy Network will be working to elevate individual and community stories while connecting others to the untapped potential we hold while offering bold ideas on how to make them a reality. The group, founded by Paul Schecklman, Ben Dryden, and Adam Jarchow, is focused on keeping our young talent in their home communities by highlighting initiatives like energy, manufacturing, conservation, reindustrialization, tax reform, local governance, national security, and education.

Schecklman, the organization's executive director, shared that "NPN is a movement. It is about being proud and putting the Northwoods first again. For too long, growth and opportunity has been focused on other regions of the state while we've been viewed as just a tourism stop. We're here to give a voice back to our home and ensure that new investments and opportunities are driven here just as much as Madison or Milwaukee."
Northwoods Policy Network can be found at northwoodspolicy.org, across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X (formally Twitter). The group is looking for people who want to get involved, share their stories, and raise the profile of the North. NPN will also be working to expand its work by developing internships and fellowships for college students.
Looking ahead, the organization says its mission is not just about policy but about building pride and momentum for the Northwoods as a whole. By connecting people, ideas, and opportunities, NPN hopes to ensure the region’s future is one where residents don’t have to leave to find success — but can thrive right here at home.
