Motorcyclist Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash Near Cameron

BARRON COUNTY – A two-vehicle crash on County Road W near 19th Street west of Cameron claimed the life of a Barron man on Sunday, September 29, 2024, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 3:01 p.m. the Barron County 911 Center received a call of a two vehicle crash on County Road W at 19th Street just west of Cameron.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Marshfield Medical Center Ambulance, Cameron Fire Department, Barron County First Responders and WI State Patrol responded to the scene.

The crash involved a vehicle driven by Kathy Harelstad, 74 of Chetek, and a motorcycle driven by Jerry Rogers, 63 of Barron. Harelstad was treated and released at the scene and Rogers was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash and cause remain under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff’s Department and is being reconstructed by the WI State Patrol.

County Road W and 19th Street were closed for four hours by the Barron County Highway Department.
